- 1 cup plain yogurt (approx. 240 ml)
- 1 tablespoon honey (approx. 15 ml)
- 1 medium mango (approx. 200 g, diced)
- 1 ounce dark chocolate (approx. 30 g, optional)
Begin by scooping about 1 cup (240 ml) of plain yogurt into a mixing bowl. Stir in approximately 1 tablespoon (15 ml) of honey, ensuring it fully dissolves into the yogurt for gentle sweetness. Use full-fat or Greek yogurt if you prefer a creamier consistency and higher protein content. Mix gently until the flavors are well combined, creating a silky, lightly sweetened base that will pair beautifully with the mango.
Peel and dice one medium-sized ripe mango into small, bite-sized chunks (about 200 g). Fold these bright, juicy pieces into the sweetened yogurt until they’re evenly dispersed. The mango adds natural sugar, vitamins, and fiber, elevating these clusters into a more nutritionally balanced snack. If desired, feel free to include other seasonal fruits like strawberries or blueberries for extra color and variety.
Line a baking sheet or shallow tray with parchment paper to prevent sticking. Using a spoon, drop dollops of the mango-yogurt mixture onto the lined tray, making them roughly 1–2 inches (2.5–5 cm) in diameter. Leave a bit of space between each cluster so they won’t merge as they freeze. Place the tray in the freezer and allow the clusters to firm up for about 1–2 hours or until they hold their shape.
If you crave a chocolatey twist, melt about 1 ounce (30 g) of dark chocolate in a microwave-safe dish or over a double boiler until smooth. Drizzle this warm chocolate over the frozen clusters once they have set. Return them to the freezer for a few minutes until the chocolate hardens, creating a thin, crisp layer that contrasts beautifully with the creamy yogurt and fruity mango core.
Once the clusters are fully frozen and the chocolate has set (if you chose to add it), remove them from the freezer. Transfer the clusters to a serving plate, and enjoy immediately. If there are leftovers, store them in a freezer-safe container for easy snacking throughout the week.
Ensure your yogurt is thick to help clusters hold their shape. Adjust fruit sweetness with an extra drizzle of honey or a pinch of cinnamon. If clusters are too icy, reduce freezing time slightly.
